This website was designed as a final product reflecting the five years Courtney Kimmel worked with Catawba Landcare as a graduate student at Virginia Tech.  If there seems like there is a lot of information here, that is why.  If you are a community group and you would like to have a similar website, it was built using the free WordPress platform, though we used a premium theme through Elegant Themes.  Email Courtney and she can tell you more.

The site uses both static pages to reflect the stuff that doesn’t change, as well as blogging technology to chronicle the things that do change.  The difference is like a book and a newspaper.  The web PAGES are the book because they really don’t change often — the blog posts are like newspaper articles that are written about small events and updates, but are stored to look at later.
